“South Mobile, 1699-2018”, Susan Rouillier, – Giddens

Susan Rouillier has been drawn to nature all her life. At the University of Melbourne, she was a Commonwealth Scholar and did invertebrate research at Wilson’s Promontory in Australia. She graduated with a Biology degree and went on to teach in Australia, Japan and the United States, retiring in 2009 from The Alabama School of Math and Science. Rouillier set up a joint ecological project between Meiji Gankuen High School in Kitakyushu, Japan and The School of Math and Science in Mobile, Alabama, funded by the Fulbright Master Teacher Program.
She founded and has led the Hillcrest Writing group for the past nine years and has published four books and two poems:
South Mobile – 1699-2018, released in June, 2018, has been well received and is currently for sale. Because of this book, “Susan Rouillier Day” was declared by the Mobile City Council in June, 2018.
