Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Fairhope Public Library. Volunteerism has been one of the core values of our community; people continue to generously give of their time and effort to improve our Library. Volunteers enhance the Library’s ability to fulfill its mission and to provide quality services to the public. Volunteer opportunities offer citizens a way to contribute to the community, fulfill personal goals, achieve a sense of satisfaction, and learn more about the Library.

A variety of engaging tasks are available to volunteers. Straightening and organizing shelves, shelving library materials, covering books, teaching computer classes, and assisting staff with special projects are a few of the many tasks that volunteers have done.

Before any potential volunteers can begin serving here at the Library it is required to have a short orientation with the staff person responsible for coordinating volunteers. Detailed instructions about volunteer tasks will be given as well as providing a time for any questions and concerns to be addressed.
