Marietta Patricia Leis is a practicing multi-interdisciplinary visual artist whose poetry is often shown as text plates. This began in 1996 with The Marietta Robusti Tintoretto Story, which was supported with grants from the E. D. In 2017 Leis’ book, Pausing: reflections in art and poetry was published by Ermalinda Press. Her works also appear in numerous anthologies. Leis’ concerns in her writing and visual art are the environ- ment and sense of place—both internal and external. She has an MA in psychology from Antioch University/LA and an MA/ MFA in art from the University of New Mexico. Leis is also a published author of several nonfiction books in psychology and childbirth. She currently lives and works in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
